Just bought this awesome 2000 DWG with this custom HD paint set. I did some research and found out it's called Candy Sunset Fade. Wondering if anyone knows how many of these sets were made and whether they were made for any model other than the Wide Glide?
This wasn't one of those limited paint sets. I bought one for my FXDWG that I still own. With that said they are pretty rare. I have only seen one or two in the many bike rallies I have attended. They went on back order not too long after they came out. I was lucky to find one at Harley Davidson of Tampa in stock.

Im going to write a letter to the HD heritage museum and see if I can get a better answer.
Normally the factory custom paint jobs show what number the tin set is out of how many were done total somewhere on the tank? Regardless that is one good looking Wide Glide, enjoy!

This particular paint set was one of the earliest HD produced, back in 1999. they were not numbered at that time. it was also the Dyna cover bike for the 2000 P&A catalog. this bike was built by the dealer as a replica of the bike in the P&A catalog with the exception of the dealer also adding a Zippers 107" kit. the bike was $25,000 in 2000. i purchased it in 2017 with 3,900 miles.

I was at tech for Harley-Davidson in those years and that paints it was only made indeed for the wide glide as far as numbers I don't know exactly how many were made but I know I have a brand new complete set in boxes! I consider brand new I had them on my wide glide for a very short time.they're in immaculate condition they're not for sale though I'm actually looking to buy a carbureted wide glide to put them on!
