Question Shaft clearance on Narrow Glide 3/4 Bearings

Hi.

Trying to find bearings for my 3/4 wide glide shaft, shaft inner dimension is 19mm but bearings available are 19.05mm. Wanting to find out shaft clearance and will these bearings fit?? As I have just fitted a wide glide front end to my narrow glide, but trying to keep narrow glide wheel.

Hopefully someone can help.

Thanks
Darren

I have no idea what you are talking about. What shaft? The Axel or neck stem on the triple trees? I assume the axel. Are you talking sealed bearings or timkens? If you want to run a narrowglide wheel on a wideglide you will need to space the rotor. Companies like CCE make a conversion kit for this very thing.

As far as bearings. Go to a supplier or shop near your house and ask for 3/4 bearings for what you need whether it be sealed or Timken. The timkens will run on a race and need to have the endplay set. Sealed bearings need to be pressed in and still require a spacer in between them like the timkens do.

Sounds about right...

That 3/4" axle is a "slip fit" in the bearing so the .05mm (.002") clearance sounds about right

The 3/4 bearingis for the axle so there should be play because the bearing shop is saying that they should be a press fit

The bearing Outside Race to hub ID is a "Press fit"...NOT the axle OD to Inner Race ID...that's a "Slip Fit"

You've taken a wheel off or installed on a bike before?
