Nothing wrong with the 103. Plenty of power! And proven. I guess it depends on how long you plan on hanging on to it. If you plan on keeping it a while, the 103 is a great choice. If you're only going to have it for a year or so then you might want to wait for the M8 because of trade-in value. I don't know a lot about the M8, it just feels like an EPA compromised power plant. I wish they would stop telling me it's smooth, that's not why I buy a HD. If horsepower is your thing, there are some great deals on a Ducati Diavel that will quench your thirst!
I personally love the vibration of my 103 SB. Something I miss when rolling on my heritage.
No doubt about one thing, if the dyna/softail get the M8 next, you can score a great deal on a '17 SB!
good luck

You want the M8 drivetrain, don't compromise at this point.

In you guys opinion, if they do in fact use a new frame on the dynas do you think they will also put the M8 in it right away or do you think they will wait a year or two or whatever?

The street bob has always been a legacy bike. They are doing a new frame and engine, but I'd almost put money that the SB doesn't see it this MY.

Just me, but I make it a point to never buy the first year of a major change.. I don't aspire to be on the bleeding edge of a new thing. I'll let the folks who just can't wait, find the bugs.
Although, I will say the M8 looks pretty decent.

Sounds like you're hungry for an M8.

How will you feel if you get a fair deal on a TC103 and then see an M8 roll off the line in 1-3 years?

Why buying brand new?

Have you spent time in the saddle of a Street Bob?

personally this close to the dealer meetings I would wait..

6 years ago this month I bought a wideglide not even 30 days later the switchback was announced and I drooled over it for 5 long months on December 18th 2011 just over 6 months to the date of purchasing the wide glide I traded it in and bought my switcback

thankfully Christmas time they are hurting for sales and they gave me on trade what I paid for the bike six months earlier so the only thing I ate was the few small add ons that wouldn't transfer over to the switchback
