Default 2017 FXDLS ECM Update - Clicking Under the Fuel Tank

I took my new FXDLS in for the 1K service and they mentioned they had to do a recall update to the ECM. Now, when I turn on the ignition switch there is a single click that comes from under the gas tank. It sounds like a relay engaging. When I turn the ignition switch off, it clicks one time again. Anybody know what this is?

Sounds like they may have messed something up.
How loud is it?

That's completely normal.

It's the ACR doing it's thing.

They specifically mentioned the clicking noise in the recall.

The first click that you hear are the ACR's opening, the second one, they're closing back up.

Same here. Click is the ACRs opening before the starter engages. Previously they weren't opening early enough and causing the hard start issues. I wouldn't think you should not hear them click when shutting the bike down though. Their sole purpose is to release compression when starting the motor. When running, they are closed and stay that way until you power on prior to startup. If they stayed open, you're losing compression

i only hear it close if I cycle the ignition without actually starting it.

My thoughts exactly! O.P. should probably talk with the Service Dept. at Harley - something ain't right, if what is described is true (I.e. a 2nd loud click from the same valve when turning off the motor).

Second click is only when turning off the ignition without starting the bike.

So are you convinced its the ACR valve opening and closing? If so, mystery solved.
I have not had the ECM update done on my LRS.

Best wishes...
