I have bad news, those are the factory shock studs, I sent the shock studs, axles with nuts and washers, wheel spacers, adjuster blocks (nickel only). and a few other bits out for triple chrome. The shop that did the chrome charged me about $250 for everything. The acorn nuts are just 18-8 industrial stainless steel that I detailed and polished, I got the acorns from McMaster-Carr, here's a link:

Ghost, I just saw the photo of your oil temperature gage in your thread, can you tell me about it, its a very nice piece and I like analog gages.
Thanks: Mike

The cover's slit will need to be widen to fit over the 444s - (file / dremel / bench grinder / similar)
Then they can be PCd..., or..., I used krylon gloss black - can't tell the difference
If you paint them - the chrome will need to be scuffed up..., or preferably sanded off

No alteration necessary
The powder coated cover fits, just fine, without alteration. Sorry, haven't gotten a new photo account, yet. There were photos in earlier threads. And, I have the 12" Progressive 444s.
