Advice, what first?
I just made the move from a sporty to a '17 street bob. Pretty stoked. My sporty had a lot done, and was kind of "club" style.
I will most likely lean that way again...just what I like...
I bought some 12" w.c. Mxt bars so far... Don't like the apes angle on my wrist
but where to start after that? I am not rich. I ride a lot and do some long multi day rides. But mostly in town.
for me its between the stage 1,
or a rifle fairing w/ 15" screen to block some wind and make the highway more enjoyable and a better seat..lucky Dave or something.
if you had $1000 where would it go?

Nice. Welcome to the fxdb club. I also bought new, who doesn't like shiny new things ?!
$1000...I'd focus on comfort mods first. Sounds like you'll be riding your bike often. Performance mods you can do after. You have a 103, it's not shy on power. Ride it about 500-1000 miles, then see what aches or what you prefer. You may jump right to a fairing if you fatigue out from the hwy winds or you may want a better seat or rear shock setup if you ride bumpy roads. Mods are endless but I'd say comfort before performance first if funds are limited.
the stock shocks are junk FYI. That was my first upgrade with a new seat.

Thanks for the responses,
so 2 for stage 1 , 1 for comfort.
I agree with both sides. Ha ha.
I do like the 103 power compared to the sporty.
Which makes me think I should do comfort first... Can always make it faster when I get bored.
But the stock pipes are so lame.... To quiet..

All the advice above is bad....
takeout a second mortgage and get a s&s 124ci or 143ci engine first... then build around it. After that... a turbo.... then a set of Knight Industries red leds to run across the front of your triple trees so that when the bike is talking to you or scanning the area, you can tell. "Micheal..."
