just bringing this back...I picked up the shifter and will be modifying it too.

noticed tho, it looks like there is little, if any room behind the peg to up shift.
wouldn't it be more effective if the shifter was flipped and angled forward, to allow for easier peg contact/throw?

here is my old sporty that I did one on.
now this photo contradicts what I just proposed, but notice the two pegs are level across.
it works this way, because the rear arm is much longer than the one for this application.

so if you flip it, the rear peg is above the shifter and the front remains the same.
make sense?

This is what I came up with a few years ago. The toe lever is the oem part. I ordered up a transmission shift lever for the heel portion and had them welded together.

Different strokes for different folks ... or as my dear departed mother used to say "What a dull world this would be if we all liked the same things ... " But I hate heel shifting .... first thing to go is the heel shifter on my touring bikes. I find it much easier to just flick my toe than to pick up the whole effin' foot ... but that's just me ... everybody else should just do whatever works for them .....
