Handlebar control cover helicoil help
I have a stripped screw hole in my 2014 Dyna FXDB right side (brake side) hand control cover. I believe that this is causing intermittent brake light function because it is allowing the controls to rotate slightly. I was wondering if I could install a helicoil here and if anyone has an idea of what size I need and how to successfully do it, I believe that it will be cheaper than replacing the lower housing.
Picture of hole below.
Thanks in advance for the help

Should be a #10-24 screw thread. Order the complete helicoil kit for that size. It should include the special drill, tap, installer tool, and the coils.
It's pretty straightforward. Check YouTube for installation videos.
Since it's a blind hole, you may also want to make or buy a drill stop collar to prevent drilling too deep. You should be able to get them at any decent hardware store or just wrap huge ring of duck tape around the drill at the desired depth.
Oh, and since you're asking, I'm guessing you may also need a tap handle. A 8-pount socket or vice grips can work in a pinch but you.must exercis extreme care in keeping a good grip and tap angle.

Probably cheaper to just buy a complete take-off switch set and save the unused bits for spares.
I think I have three incomplete sets. LOL.
$25 for both sides, complete (I think, didn't read)

Thanks for all the help everyone, the street bob has a cutout on the bottom for the front blinkers so it is definitely specific. And I'm not relocating the blinkers. That's what I'm having trouble finding.
I might bring it to a machine shop that my work uses often and see what crazy price they would quote to fix it. There are plenty of chrome versions out there as people upgrade. I might try to post it in the classified/wanted section to try and get lucky.
