Default Top end damage from a loose plug wire

Hey guys - While this is an embarrassing story, I still would like to understand the potential implications:

While checking the plugs on my '08 FXDL, apparently I didn't push down hard enough on the plug wire to ensure it's fully snapped in-place. As a result, the wire loosened while ridding on the freeway and the motor started to run erratically.

Because traffic was heavy and I was in the car pool lane, it took me about 4-5 minutes of riding with the motor sputtering randomly (as the wire made and then broke it's connection) before I could exit and kill the engine.

My question for the community - could I have damaged my top end because of the inconsistent spark to a single cylinder? After ensuring the wire was snapped in place, the bike has resumed to run strong and consistent, but I'm still obsessing that I may have hurt the top end.

Thanks for any insights/opinions!!

some say the only stupid question is the one you dont ask. Well I disagree.
Common sense and knowledge of engines are two separate things. There's nothing wrong with asking a question like this for peace of mind. Not everyone understands how engines work. This community is about HELPING eachother regardless of how we feel about the members question. Until you understand that, we really don't need you here. Op, no, this couldn't cause any damage to your motor. In rare instances it could damage the coil, but if you're bike is running properly after reconnecting the spark plug wire, there's no reason to believe you did any damage. In the future, please continue to ask ANY questions you need help or advice on because the rest of us ARE here to help. Yea, we have some ******** like Kevin R, but most of us are happy to help. And don't be too hard on Kevin r, clearly he's just a miserable, whiny, ***** with a low IQ, and poor social skills. Not everybody has common sense these days.

Thanks Kevin - your reply was most helpful and I'm grateful you took 10-20 seconds to bang it out. Asking the stupid question (with the caveat that it was embarrassing to begin with) certainly has provided me with some peace-of-mind, so it was worth it.
