Mid Controls to Forward Control 2001 Low Rider FXDL
#11
When I purchased my lowrider back in 2007 I had full intentions of putting forward controls on it but I had other assessories that I needed before that. After riding it for one year with mid controls and highway pegs I began to like it that way. If you do any touring with that bike you will appreciate having mid controls and highway pegs, let's not forget to mention the twisties of the Dragon... Taking those Corners is a lot of fun with mid controls underneath you...

I still don't get it,,
If you remove the mid "controls" how do you shift or brake at all?
How can you heel shift when your foot is on highway pegs?
and/or
Brake when your foot is on a highway peg after removing the controls?
Do you mean you just removed the mid foot peg, installed highway pegs, and move your feet off the highway pegs to the control levers, then move them back to the highway pegs each time you shift or brake?

But it's just a small slide back to use your controls then forward . Your foot should never leave the peg.

2004 FXDL mid mount
Aw, you're really an Aussie? I will have a set soonish, but shipping is probably a nightmare. Sorry, I should have picked up on your accent, it would be cheaper to find what you need on that side of the world...
