Rear fender paint chip... What to do?
So just bought my first HD, and of course with my luck the rear fender on my bike had some rust and caused the paint to chip and eventually come off after my first ride of the year... You guys got any suggestions on what to do.
1. I could tape it off, sand it down try and repaint it red, or spray bed liner of some sort with just a black strip at the bottom
2. I could just get some touch up paint and clear coat
3. Scour the depths of the internet and try and find some sort of chrome piece that would cover it up and for an 08 Superglide
4. Glue the chip that flew off back on and try to finagle some vinyl tape on there and hopefully it sticks without bubbling up too much
I'm honestly not sure what to do. I don't want to go crazy money wise if I had the option I would buy a whole new fender and just get it repainted but that's a lot of money and doesn't seem worth it for some paint. I'm not sure what y'all think would be the best route, for looks and a reasonable price point? And yes I know it blends very well with the concrete in that pic hahaha

Does your red have a candy or pearl about it? If so that might be hard to match up. Another option might be reflective red tape like Reflexite V98, wouldn't stick out against the red paint but would provide a nice safety feature. Stays on well, comes off easy enough if you need, works well with compound curves. V92 btw is a lot stiffer.
If the chip that came off is whole you might be able to just glue it back on. That's were I'd start there because anything more I'd be likely to go, "Oh-no, now I have to repaint the whole bike!... and upgrade the engine! And new wheels!"

From the picture it looks like the fender has been repainted. Poorly. You can probably use one of the suggestions above to cover it up but don't be surprised if/when more paint starts to fall off. So before you put any band aids on it you might want to look into that and consider repainting the whole thing.
