Congrats; worst advice that's ever been offered.

You should be ashamed...

I like Platypus blood in the primary.
Whale Oil seems best in the engine.
The transmission seems to like a 50/50 mix of diatomaceous earth and spring water.

Giraffe milk would of been my first choice. High in omegas for the primary. Too bad its too expensive.

One more heads up. You're going to probably need a dirby cover gasket and three O rings. They come in a neat little package from your dealer.
I'd recommend getting a shop manual for your bike and reading through this procedure.
I think you can get platypus blood at any good fish market.

Actually that’s incorrect. You only need to change oil and filter once every 5k Miles and your transmission and primary oil once every 10K Miles. Actually the manual says transmission every 20k, but you mine as well change it at the same time as primary since it’s the same oil. Don’t believe the hype and spend more $$ than you have to. Don’t believe the dealers. People on this board like to spend more $$ than they need to.

yep he’s full of ****, trying to steal your money. Oil and filter change every 5k, primary and trans every 10K. I’m reading this right out of the manual. I’d trust the manual before trusting any dealership or someone on this board. You only need to replace primary o ring, others replace if they look warn out. You want to use motorcycle oil and a separate oil for primary/trans. Hope that helps.

.....you're absolutely correct. I noted the HD part for the other gasket which may or may not need replacing.

Thanks for the link, I'll order some today. Hope to get out in the next week or so!

I Change the Engine Filter,Engine Oil,Primary & Transmission oil on my Harleys every 3000 miles . I use Mobil 1 50 Weight Synthetic for the Engine , Spectro 75 Weight Synthetic for the transmission, and Spectro Primary Oil . I use K&N ( part # 171 C ) Oil Filters with the 17mm nut on the end for ease of removal and installation . I also use the same oils and filters on My S&S Engined Bikes as well .
