Cam Upgrade to Andrews 57H
I'm sure this has been covered in various threads but I can't find them and I'm hoping to consolidate specific information on my intended upgrade in one place.
My current ride is a 2014 FXDL with H-D Screamin' Eagle Heavy Breather, D&D Fat Cat w/ louvered baffles, and Dynojet Power Vision & Target Tune.
Now I'm looking to upgrade to Andrews 57H cams with no further performance modifications planned.
Other than the cams and S&S Cycle Quickee Pushrod and Cover Kit, what other changes should I consider while she's opened up?

Most would say to consider replacing the bearings and the lifters once you're in there. Cheap (relatively), and easy to do. Plus yours already have a few years of use! Here's a link to my original thread. Good luck and have fun!

Depends on how much you want to dump in to it. I know some like to replace the cam plate and upgrade the oil pump while in there. Lifter upgrade can be worth it, but is also expensive for not much improvement. If you're closing in on 40K miles I'd say the lifters are a definite though. Don't forget to have the tensioner boot inspected.

You don't say how many miles are on it but without a doubt you should replace the cam bearings...its 10 bucks well spent. Lifters are up to you...but for around 120 bucks you can get some s and s standards and not have to worry about a junk harley lifter going south on you. The oil pump and cam plate are fine ...maybe put in a baisley spring? Check crank runout while its apart for piece of mind. I don't know if you mentioned adjustable pushrods, not necessary but they sure make life easy. Thats about all i can think of and should give you lots of trouble free riding.

Forgot to mention, to bump your compression closer to where the 57 likes it you can have the 4 degree advance key installed. I'd suggest it if you aren't having head work or new pistons installed. https://www.jpcycles.com/product/423...8aAnqnEALw_wcB Adding to that, with the 57 you will want to add compression or go with the 48 instead.
