it has one of the best spreads/beam patterns i've seen on any lower end light. the high beam is great too. looks really mean outside of the garage too.

again, i can't prove it killed my siren but, odd coincidence. worth a buy for 20-30 bucks.
Alright cvaria, you've had it for about a month now, still pleased?

Also, what's the red wire for? I'm assuming it's to be compatible with older models?

Above headlight product links were duds, so here's an updated one to a similar headlight: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3290...4a4d3c003w4zyO

I too am curious on this necro'ed thread. What does that red wire go to? Are you still happy with the light?

I've been curious about trying an LED headlight on my '03 Sporty. This one seems like it would allow adequate space in the bucket, while others like this might not: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/5-75...843163217.html

Thanks for the heads up on the aliexpress options. Much more accessible price for effectively throwaway tinkering. If it sucks, no big loss at that price. I may not plan on any nighttime riding any time soon, so my interest in these is largely for the sake of the weird pattern improving daytime noticeability, though being crap at night wouldn't be good either.

Any more thoughts on yours, @cvaria ?

Honestly, it was just an okay led. The result was similar to putting and LED bulb in a stock lamp but with a wider dispersion. It's an ok light for the money. No better or worse than the usual cheapies like the wisamic and such. It is 100% noticeable . It is still on my on sale sportster

The red wire is there for the longer center LEDs. They aren't necessarily. A lot of headlights can optionally use that connection for the unnecessary stuff like accent leds (halos, etc...) and position markers. Sorry, I just noticed that question.

On international bikes they have a position lamp, a small extra bulb in the headlamp housing with its own power connections. If you look at the HD daymaker you see it has a similar wire to this headlight. In the middle of the light is a small led with HD engraved on it. That gets powered with that wire.

If you want cheap but quality I'd look at https://www.rogueriderindustries.com...aker-headlight I'm running their light bar and will be grabbing the turn signals eventually. Their customer service is awesome as well.
