Default ECM fuse blown 07 streetbob Fuel pump issue?

Hey guys, dealing with a 2007 street bob that continues to blow the ECM fuse.
Nothing crazy with the bike, handlebars, exhaust, PCV installed.

Bike has run fine for the past month and a half this season and about 5 mins down the road my bike just quit on me.
Checked the fuses, ECM fuse blown. Replaced fuse and blew again.
Pushed the bike home and checked it out.
With ignition on and kill switch off everything is ok. Lights and instruments on.
Once I flip kill switch to run the ECM fuse blows.

Went through wiring diagram and found the wires go to the ECM to system relay and to the fuel pump.
Removed fuel pump fuse and tried again, ignition on kill switch to run. ECM fuse doesn’t blow.

Intsalled new fuses, removed system relay and tried again nothing blows.
Removed fuel pump relay and tried again, nothing blows.

Installed fuses and relay back back in place and removed wire harness to tank.
Switch to run and nothing blows.
disconnected pump wire IN the tank and left gauge plugged in. Nothing blows.
Figured it was the pump at this point. Removed pump from tank and ohm out. Pump is showing continuity and so are the wires from the plug in the tank. Wires are good.
Plugged pump back in but pump is out of the tank. Turned ignition on and switch to run. Fuel pump is working now.....

With the pump out of the tank I Turned the kill switch to run multiple times and let it prime and left the kill switch to run for a minute and no issues. Did not attempt to start the bike with the pump out of the tank.

Reinstalled pump into tank, hooked everything up and turned to run with ignition on.
Blew fuse again. Blows ECM fuse never the fuel pump fuse.

Any suggestions?

A friend and I just read all that and all we can think of is the fuel pump,, sure it ran while out of the tank while dry. But back in the tank its under load.

Further thought, I'm running the PCV on my 09 too.
You might want to double check the main harness connections on both sides of the PCV. I remember installing that was a pita what with those big cables in that tight space.

Thanks John!
I was thinking the same thing.
I’ll check the connections again but thinking I need to swap pumps.

where is the fuel pump fuse ?? I was told it should be in the #5 slot on the fuse block (behind the coils, under the cover. It is not. that position is empty. There is only a main? 40 amp and 2 15 amp fuses in there. I pulled the 2 15 amp fuses and the fuel pump still runs, and the bike starts.

What year is your Dyna? Changes have been made over the years with fuses and relays, so whoever told you where to look may be looking at the wrong diagram. See what it says in your owner's manual.

Eight posts in eight different threads in the last three days, all with the same question. You'll be lucky to get out of town without being tarred and feathered. Ask your question once then sit back and chill until someone with a bike of the same year comes along and tells you the answer. Your 2013 is obviously different from all these ~2007 bikes that do have fuse 5.

Or pull out the wiring diagram in your service manual and figure it out yourself.

Or post the relevant diagram IN YOUR OWN THREAD and maybe someone who speaks electricity will try to help you out.

But please stop trying to hijack every other thread unrelated to your problem.
