goodies are impressive. however,that stuff will not make the bike worth much more. better to sell the goodies. i've seen this a 1000 times with bikes. sorry for the bad news. it is true tho.

 

Yeah, he knows that. He has some of the stock parts, but not all of them. He knows he will take a hit on the parts. He just wanted to know a ballpark price range to ask. I don't know if he is going to sell it locally, Cycle Trader, or E-Bay. Kelly Blue Book range is $9,100-$13,270. I'm not trying to sell the bike here, I just figured yooos guys on the Dyna section of the forum would have a better idea.

 

I agree with Voyager. Strip off as much as posible and sell those parts separately on ebay or Trader etc.
If you took off the long shots then you might have to spend money to rejet, so since you don't have the OEM's then keep the V&H's on.
Last bike I tried to sell on ebay had over $2000 in options.
I was trying to recoup $500 of the $2000 invested and listed the bike 1/2 way between wholesale and retail.
Many potential buyers kept asking why I was asking so much for the bike.
Manypeople on ebaydon't want to paymuch more than wholesale because a dealer is not involved.
so they care less about options.
So they start at wholesale and work their way up while the seller starts at retail and works his way down.

When buying a bike, I take into consideration all the options. Especially if they are changes that I would make anyway. But that's just me.

Your friend's WG has low mileageand about $3000in options, so I have no problem spendingabout 13.5 or 13.7 But thats just me.
I think if you listed the bike on ebay in it's current state I would think you would get 10 to 10.5 maybe 11.
If you put it back to stock I think you would probably get 10-10.5 on ebay. Make sure you list it with a reserve price, just to be safe.

I would try to sell it locally and see what happens.

I agree with what those guys said (Voyager and Spark).

Looking down the list there is nothing there that makes it stand out - so no value added. in addition - most of that stuff is a pain to take off and sell - and used is only going to bring 25% of new (at the most).
lots of bikes out there - best thing going for this one is it's an anniversry and someone will want it, additions add almost nothing to the value

I think it's interesting to see someone who has taken the time to save receipts and calculate the exact cost of additions. Not a b thing - shows they really care about their ride. On the other hand - I add stuff - and still really care aout my ride - but I know the additional crap is bringing me nothing if I sell - so I try to forget what it cost .
