Default Bassani Road Rage - bigger motor, louder?

I have a road rage on my FXR, with the “quiet” baffle. I really like the sound, but it’s just about as loud as I want (or can take for any length of time). So I've been thinking about getting one for my Low Rider S. Wondering if I put one on my LRS with the 110 motor, any idea if will it be much louder then the 80 EVO motor on my FXR?

Not necessarily. I would imagine that they would have different header dimensions (diameter) and baffle compositions. That might not mean louder.

I would think YouTube would be your friend here because I doubt that a lot of the guys that have them on a lrs also have a fxr like you to compare. And after all most will have one bike and it's all opinionated.

bore diameter will have an effect on sound but its usually pitch. plus its a wider pulse between strokes so if i had to guess it will be a little deeper, just as loud, and maybe move a little more air. i dont think header pipes are any difference in size though.

I have the RR mega power on my LRS with the 117 kit and no issues whatsoever with noise level. I find it very quiet at idle and cruise but opens up a lot when you give some throttle. I have a touch of the tinnitus after a few years in the artillery as well so keeping a system with no drone was important. I’d recommend it for sure.

Thanks for the feedback. My only remaining concern would be about performance. The FuelMoto E series pipe I currently have is supposed to be one of the best performers. The Road Rages are pretty high up on the performance food chain, right?

I think they are just higher up based on sound. I have been researching for the last 2 months and the road rage has almost identical numbers to even the two brothers exhaust. Biggest difference is sound. It's a little higher pitched than I like so I didn't go with it. But to each their own

Dyno tunes 117 with a RR3 here. Torque is 128.8

Sound is great: not loud until you get on it.

Got a rr3 on my 117 LRs, it’s pretty freaking loud. I didn’t know there is a quiet baffle but I want one now. I prefer the sound of VH 2-1’s butbit made good power on dyno. For the first time ever I ride with ear plugs cuz the bassani is so loud. It is def quieter on a 103. Tuned 117 is a monster I’m sure it makes the RR3 louder

With a larger bore, it should offer a lower frequency exhaust note. Everything else being the same, that is.
