Default Plug hole in drilled out muffler?

The previous owner drilled a hole in the baffle of the stock exhaust on my 2004 FXDI Super Glide with EFI. I have no idea how a baffle is designed. Can I just plug the hole he drilled? I can't tell if there are other holes for the gases to go through. If I can do it it appears like a big bolt will screw right into it. If I can't I won't dink around and just get some used stock mufflers. Thanks!

The question is why would you want to do that? Why plug the hole? It's a common thing to make the muffler flow a little better and it really doesn't make it that much louder. Is it the factory sound you want? Before I changed my exhaust system that's what I did to mine. Some guys pull the baffle out completely (although I don't recommend that for many reasons).

You have a pic to see if that's all he changed?

Because I want to. Does anyone have something constructive to add?

Only way to fix it is to buy a new exhaust system.

Why would you want to? I need some explanation first.

Dont worry about it unless there is a good reason to. What is it about the drilled hole that is bothering you?

Wow.... didn't mean to offend. Was just asking why.... As your first post I'm not aware of how much knowledge you have of these things. You could always weld the hole closed or have it welded. ....... Better?

Unfortunately too many people who respond on forums are judging what someone wants to do rather than answer the question. That alone has destroyed the ability of many people to get answers to their questions. The reason one wants to do a thing is not important, the answer to the question is.
