Bike not starting!!!
Bought a 2012 Street bob last Friday, bike was running good. Yesterday I tried to run it and it won’t turn over. Need some help!!! |
Remove the battery
Fully charge the battery Take battery to auto parts store and have it load tested While battery is out of bike, clean all battery connections Waiting for your response... |
Welcome aboard!!

Hi welcome to the forum...we are all happy to help....feel free to add the following whenever posting a question... year, model, mileage & mods .... 2012 Street bob mileage? mods? if the bike is completely dead, like said before have the battery checked after it’s fully charged. Once fully charged check the whole charging system otherwise if there is something else going on you will have another dead battery....if the battery is original probably time to replace |
Thanks guys I’ll try to do what y’all suggested and let y’all know what happens!!! |
Aloha from Michigan, welcome to the forum. +1 on the battery suggestions. If you have a digital volt meter , read the voltage across the top of the battery (pos. and neg.) to see what kind of volts the charging system is providing. There is a section in the DIY electrical testing that explains more into testing the stator output. Typically while running the voltage should be approx. 14.5v. at idle.

You should also have a system relay and a starter relay inside the side electrical cover (at least that's where it is on my Dyna). I have had problems with those. When the starter relay acts up, they key can be turned on, the gauges light up and the fuel pump runs but when you hit the starter switch....nothing. I can usually tap it or pull it out and put it back in and it'll work. I finally replaced them both. If the system relay isn't working, the gauges won't work and the fuel pump won't run.
