Man, the Softail guys mean well, but it seems like there is far less tech knowledge there then here. I’d post a question here and get answers next to immediately. Over there, not so much. Seems like not many oddball projects (which I love), modifications, etc. happens there. Hey to each is own, but I miss the wealth of knowledge over here.

Oh well, I’m the one who bought the Softail. Love the bike, but I need to look around for a more tech oriented Softail forum.

I'm not really sure I see the relevance of that statement with reference to my post. My hygiene is exemplary. Would you mind explaining your comment?

I'm pretty sure he's joking about them avoiding them you because of "odor". Most likely it's the stench of decomposing bear carcass. LOL!

What's going on with the 18 that needs tech advice?

Duh.. I was just giving a little wiseassery back. ;-)

Nothing wrong at all (and <ahem> its a '19, btw...) just looking to do mods and had some questions along the way. There are ppl with knowledge who definitely contribute, and I didn't mean to sound disparaging at all. It only seems to be a broader knowledge base here is all I meant.

And I will say, the Softail Tallboy looks a hell of a lot better then the "dead bear" of yore...

There was no relevance at all.

My original thought was that yours being such a new bike, maybe no one has had the opportunity to do anything yet.
But my smartassedness (is that a word?) got the better of me.

"Smartassdness", "wiseassery", all good. Improvisation is the spice of life!

Yeah I get that, but my 19 is the same as the 18's - I would think some ppl have messed around. No biggie. BTW, I saw a Dyna at my dealer while picking up some parts that I wanted to share... Does have somewhat illegal red facing forward sigs. Unless its an undercover cop dyna...?

The red sigs. are there to match the red plug wires and red stripes. That's my best guess.

How are you liking the FatBoy as compared to the LRS? I've been toying with moving on from the Switchback. Haven't test ridden any of the Softails (for fear of pissing off my wallet), but I've test ridden the RK and SGS and RGS. The M8 is a really nice engine, and the suspension upgrades were noticeable.
