Check out the Mustang Day Tripper. I've read a lot of good things about that seat. I had the HD Sundowner and didn't like it. It pushed me forward a bit and although comfortable it was ungodly big.
I have a saddlemen explorer, the wifey looooves it. although im not crazy about the "saddlehyde" material as it absorbs water and requires and cover when its wet
Yesa, water absorbtion would be a problem, with my factory seat, I just wipe it and go. Sometimes theres dew and condensation, especially in the summer after the sun goes down.
I have 2 superglides and they both have the LePara Cherokee seat and my wife who truly misses the Mean City Cycles seat on our departed Road King gives them a big thumbs up as do I.
I have 4 seats for my Switchback
- Stock
- HD Tallboy
- Mustang Wide Touring Solo w/ backrest and pillion
- Corbin Classic Solo w/ backrest and pillion
My wife also has a Switchback and she runs the Sundowner solo and pillion (riding position is different than the Sundowner dual)
Once in a while my wife rides with me on the back. She's 5'9" w/ 30" inseam. According to her, if you can handle the increased height, the Tallboy is THE most comfortable for the passenger of the seats I have, with the Mustang a close 2nd. She rode on the Corbin once and ....never again. I've never ridden on the back of her bike, but have to say, how the Sundowner solo connects to the pillion gives me the heebie jeebies. It is a plastic tab that looks flimsy. Comparatively, the Mustang uses a metal tang that slides into a formed metal bracket for very high stability.
Some rider ride position notes....
- Sundowner dual - Moves rider up 1" and forward 1"
- Sundowner Solo - Moves rider up 1" and back 1"
- Tallboy - Moves rider up 1.75" and back 2"
- Corbin Classic Solo - Moves rider down 1-1.5" and back about 2"
- Mustang Wide Touring Solo - Moves rider up slightly, maybe 0.5-1" and slightly back, maybe 0.5"

Interesting. Didn't realize this about the saddlehyde. Was seriously thinking about checking out a Saddleman, but this gives me serious pause.

I have an saddleman explorer seat also,, very comfy for me and the passenger. I have not noticed the seat itself absorbing water, but the seam where the front meets
the rear section will absorb some in heavy rain
