Those are really what I'm after. Clean look without the bags. I almost choked on the price but that's what I'm after for appearance. Something to think hard about on.

It takes about 30 seconds to remove or install. Bracket locks onto struts, and the cases lock onto the bracket.
Those are pretty trick, I watched a video about them. I was taken back by the price, but again, this is on the line with what I want to see when they aren't on the bike.

I have Boss also. Great craftsmanship, and the easiest install I've ever seen.

Here's a picture showing what's left on the bike, and the cap nuts that I use (instead of the very crappy quick disconnect things).

Reading this thread, I was hoping for more detail about the quick-mount solutions. But, contributing to where this has been going....

Don't bypass the Harley factory OEM bags. This model is old enough that the OEM bags are not going for a lot of money on the used market. I picked up a set of the Harley hard LEATHER bags on Ebay for $225 shipped. Really nice quality and they fit the bike perfectly, like they were made for the bike - because they WERE made for the bike. Some guys bought them new, took them off, and left them sitting in the garage for the last 15 years. Now they're just glad to get a little coin for them.

Food for thought....

Yeah, I picked up a set of the H-D Detachable bags from Ebay over the summer. Because it's 'used' and I can't be 100% on all the hardware supplied, I am saving it for a winter project just in case the installation gets held up on parts. We have had sh!&*y enough weather in CT this year...no need to limit ride time waiting for a washer.

The H-D Detachables are certainly cleaner but there is still a bracket that is visible when the bags are removed. It's black, and it's tucked mostly behind the coils of the shock, but it is still visible. I found this picture online to show what I'm talking about.

Regards,
SJK

Tookbsome pics of the Boss Bag 30 can bags on my 97 WG. Pics of bag on boke and off, hardware on bike and setup of bag itself. Hardware is now 1/2" spacer as 3/4" spaced it too far out. Couldn't quite get 3/8'" to work on ooening bag and not having it scratch the paint. 3/8" might be ok without the studs on the bags.

Also, crashed at around 25mph with bags on, kept bike off my leg and just a little rash on the bag.
