I see fenders, bars, signals, seat, shocks, grips, covers, air cleaner, looking good!!! Tell us more?
everything you mentioned was done. I cut the front and rear fenders down, didnt like how long the front was and the rear didnt look good with the new bars I installed so I chipped that too. I put a low profile solo seat on it and ended up having a hard time reaching my 2 extended forward controls so I removed the extensions and put stock pegs back on. Im not really into the upgraded harley pegs, covers etc. just doesnt fit the style Im trying to go with. I removed all the chrome and polished it with a scotch brite pad. Turned out awesome. Im thinking about putting the brass collection covers on my head bolts. Took the heat shields off because they were broken where the worm clamps mount, so Im going to wrap them or spray the headers with black high heat paint. Undecided at this point. Had some rear shocks that were black laying around so I put them on and it looked funny with polished lowers on the front so I cleaned them up, taped everything off and sprayed them black. Installed the handlebars, they are LA choppers 10 bars and put some biltwell grips on. I had the painter take the harley logo off the tank because Im planing on doing a really simple traditional pin stripe.
the whole reason I decided to do this makeover is because during rolling thunder someone dropped my bike or their bike into mine and damaged the bars, grips, levers, heatshield and tank. Got out to my bike, rode off to the shop and a couple days later noticed all this damage. It was subtle enough that I missed it but it was there. What a bummer! So my solution was to make a new bike. Cheers!

I forgot to mention I lowered the front end 1. Installed some black mirrors and removed the turn signals. Because I chopped the rear fender I had to replace the brake light, so I ordered a lowbrow customs Johnny 5 light and side mounted it through the bottom shock bolt.

What can you tell me about the chrome handle bars you removed? Height, brand, where you got them. I'm looking for something similar only maybe an inch or two shorter.

They were 12 Harley mini apes. Run around $80-$100 I think. I ran black mini apes on my sporty and then the chrome on my dyna. Theyre nice bars just not what I wanted anymore.
Don't recall the FXD having dual rotors up front. Did you make this mod too?
Too bad Winter isn't over in Virginia (heck, it hasn't actually started yet!)
not sure about the FXD but this is an FXDX and they came stock with two rotors. When I bought this bike it didnt have with the FXDX suspension on it which is another reason I decided to kind of customize the way I did. I wouldve most likely kept it as close to stock as possible if it had the suspension.
