Default 1996 wide glide carborator question

Hey I've been trying for 3 days too put the carb back on the bike everything from twisting to pushing putting a little wad 40 on the seal and still wont go any tricks guys? I was thinking my hammer with a piece of wood but wanted to check with u guys first.

Ummm...is the clamp loosened?
And yes, a lubricant can make for easier work.

the clamp does not loosen it suposed to push right into the intake .

the rubber boot fits on the intake manifold and the carb pushes into it … no clamps … a little lube can help it go together

that's what I figured I just cant get to push in though and I dont know why.

no it goes on prob about 16th in but cant get it go go ahh the way

wish I was more help … I can't think of what might be keeping the carb from installing … I've done this on my Road King and Sportster several times and they just push together … even with a new rubber sleeve … I'll have to look mine over tomorrw and see if I can find something
