Both screws missing

Just get new ones. Not worth dissecting it.

Ah...Install the screws?

good one genius. The screws will not go back in. There is a rattling inside there and thats why I’m here asking how to fix that

Get some loctite (not the standard blue or red, but thinner stuff like bearing retaining compound). Clean and dry the ball joint w/ alcohol. Drip a couple of drops in when mirror is facing down. Quickly mount the mirror to bike and adjust. Do not ride until after it has a couple of hours to set up and then do not adjust/re-adjust mirrors.

Buy a new one or put some self tapping screws w/ loctite in that one and call it good. CL is an excellent source for mirrors.

When you need help, I've found it's usually best to be gracious. The above poster had know way of knowing if you knew there were supposed to be screws there. We get all kinds here, some of which, are not mechanical at all. This is a neighborhood just like any other. Many have come here, rubbed folks the wrong way and then only heard crickets when they had more questions. That, you didn't ask for, so take it for what it's worth to you.

Hmm ... was Negative Sarcasm involved with the post in question? ;)

("Negative Sarcasm" ... that may be redundant ... somewhat like "Irregardless" :))

I thought so, in post #5 from the OP.

Well, that made me laugh! Don't worry, I'd be upset if I couldn't get my mirror up!
Ok OP It's easy.
Plan A.
Lay back in your recliner. Put the mirror side toward the ceiling and gently shake it around until the piece inside reappears. Line up the holes and install the bolts using blue loctite. This will take some time, patience and can be rather trying on the nerves. After an hour or two of this method, if you have no success, go to Plan B
Plan B
SC&R(Shit can & Replace) They're not all that expensive and after Plan A, you'll be ready to start barking at the moon.
Have a beer, chill out! We're a little ornery around here. But happy to help! You will get your balls busted though.
