Default First ride on my 2008 Super Glide today

Got up to 63 degrees here today, nice. Fired up the FXDC and off I went, little scared at first since this is my first Twin Cam. My shiftier was a little too high for my liking, kept missing 2nd gear and 3rd and 4th was impossible. Turned around and went back to my garage and lowered the shiftier about an inch, much better now. Man this baby is fast and rides like a Cadillac compared to my Sporty. I noticed my head light vibrates a lot too. I didn't get an owners manual with this bike, I'm not about to pay $48 on ebay for a little book. Anyone know the head light beam height for the 2008 FXDC.

Aim it at a wall from about 25 feet back....then adjust....

get a Factory Service Manual it will help a lot, even for minor things like adjusting your headlight

As a general starting point... As crusader1xxx stated above from 25 feet back, aim for 35 inches high.

Enjoy the ride!

The headlight on my 2012 FXDC was vibrating. I removed the headlight from the housing and noticed the rivets holding it were loose. Put some glue on it and it has not vibrated since.

Word of advice, don't rely on glue or other types of adhesives in too many applications. These bikes vibrate and as a result, stuff comes loose. Always make sure to have good solid mechanical connectors where possible.

Passing on a manual for $48.00, there is good information between the covers on that manual. Last I heard a service manual was close to $75.00.
