I took the rear exhaust off my bike as I had an exhaust leak, little did I know, there was a crack in the head pipe right at the head.




It's no wonder the crack occurred as this is the only other place the pipes are attached other than at the head.

The discolored area is where the rear pipe attaches--and yes, the mount moves slightly.

So, it's obvious I need new head pipes but what do I do to keep the replacements from cracking at the same point???

I would appreciate any thoughts or advise on this issue.

I'd say you got 27 good years out of that pipe if it's the original.

 

I think you would have been better off posting this in the EVO section.
