I have a 07' street bob....anyone know what the largest rear tire you can put on it without crazy mods. It comes with a 160 was wondering if a 180 would work
On the stock rim, you can run the Dunlop GT502Screamin' Eagle tire. It's a 180x60r17. It is the only 180 rear tire I no of to fit on a 4.5" rim. This is the tire I have on my Street Bob. If you want to upgrade wheels, you can go to a 18x5.5 and then any 180 should work. You don't need a wide tire kit even though Harley sells one. I still have room and all I did was add the tire. I have heard rumors that if you use a 18x5.5 you can squeeze a 200, but I have never seen it personally so I am not sure if it's true.

I've just got a Dunlop SP Max D220 ST 180/55-17, and it looks great. It lows my bike.
I had a D220 on my bike but in the size of 170/60-17 and I only got 5k before the radials started to show. Friend had your same tire on his Hayabusa and same thing 5k radial started to show. We think if one rides curvy roads a lot or switches lanes constantly they may last longer. Just a heads up if you plan to do a long trip on those tires. Otherwise we both loved how they gripped. They never slipped on me in dry, wet or cold mountain pass condition. My only issue with them was the short life span, otherwise great tire.
