Default Best fork brace 49 mm?

if you can link some braces I would appreciate it. I have searched over the last couple days for an exacting thread discussing any sort of comparison. I found none

I have found the "hardcore Cycles" brace. Appears fairly standard and fairly well priced.

Hardcore cycles inc 49 mm fork brace

Hardcore Cycles 49 mm fork brace

I had a SE version on my last bike and had no issues.

Thanks

I have a black anodised Superbrace on my 49mm FXDB.

Sturdy, lightweight, fit and finish are excellent. No apparent fading, oxidation etc after 7 yers or so.

Sorry I can't offer comparison advice. It's the only one I've purchased...

I bought the Chrome Drag Specialties 49mm Fork Brace. It works, but also only one I bought so can't say if better or worse than another brand.

Can someone explain the need for one of these?

*disclaimer* this is what I think.... Please correct if off

as I understand it ( key point). It helps hold rigidity for the front end in corners as the front end "dives" due to compression keeping the front end acting as one. Additionally this becomes more proceed as you add length to the front end. T bars and fork brace made my front end feel very "together on my last bike". in the end it could have all been in my mind.

Going with your description, I dont see how a brace can fix dive. I fixed dive by upgrading my drop-in cartridges. Being the 49mm forks, very large, they should offer much less flex than other forks as well. Now that I think of it, where does this piece even go? Between the top and bottom triple trees?

Between the tops of the sliders. It, with the axle, keeps them parallel.

Re-read the post. It doesn't fix dive, it reduces flex in the forks.

Got it. But again, is there that much flex in the 49mm forks to make this a noticeable addition?

I just found this https://www.motorcycleid.com/arlen-n...135541821.html Now that I look at it, does it help protect against seal damage?
