Looking at upgrading my seat on my 98 super glide and was wondering how many of you guys run seats with the gel inserts in them? Was looking at a saddleman step up or a lepara daytona sport. But its quite a bit extra to add the gel to the Daytona. I dont do a crazy amount of touring but there the occasional 200-300 mile day. And input would be great thanks

 

I have a Saddlemen Dominator with Gel and it's the best solo seat I've ever used. Very comfortable. To me, it was worth it.

I have a Lepera Maverick with gel, yes it is worth it.

 

Spend the money, you *** is worth it....

 

I had gel installed in my stock Indian seat and it made a little difference but eventually I got the Mustang. Turns out it was more the shape or contour/profile of the stock seat that made it unpleasant after about 100 miles. I have been very happy with the Mustang on my FXR and I was very happy with the Mustang on my Victory so I bit the bullet and ordered the Mustang. I am a happy camper now. The Mustang is better than the stock with gel but I would have to think a custom seat with gel would be good too. Gel added to a Mustang would probably be awesome.

 

I'll tell you have great gel seat pads are. They're the LAST thing you want between your backside and a sport bike seat where being attached to your motorcycle is absolutely critical.....which is the same thing that makes them fabulous for sitting on larger touring bikes.

 

Look up Mean City Cycles and call them, I don't have gel, but what they did to my badlander it's an all day seat now, from a ride to get gas seat.

 

For my FXR4 the Mustang was well worth the money ..

 

I had the Lepera Bare Bones Seat with their standard foam. I also had the same seat with the gel. The gel made a huge difference and actually made the seat tolerable.
