Default Wide Glide Triple Trees finish

Apologies,if this is a silly question. but as i have learnt with HD, simple plans can end up quite convoluted

The finish on my stock 2014 WG triple trees is pretty dull compared to the surrounding chrome parts.

Is it just a case for ease and cost, of removing them, getting them chrome plated, and refitting?

or are there like for like stock chrome replacements in the market?

Thx. R

They are bare aluminum. You can easily remove them without removing lower tree's, just support wheel and fork assembly, then polish.

If badly oxidized you may have to clean with medium to fine scotchbrite pads or 1200 grit wet paper then polish with one of many polishing compounds for aluminum.

No need to replace.

I don't know about '14 but my '13 had clear coat on them. Either way, wait for winter and have the chromed.
Edit: I see your in Ga....In that case, wait for a hurricane!

Probably by the time he pays for chrome plating he could buy a new tree. Absolutely no need to do that.

Ga? The OP is in Scotland.

Thanks guys. Its summer here which means the rain is a bit warmer!

Just looking at some ideas for the front end, when the rain gets cold again

Polishing them is a lot easier of you strip the clear coat off first.
