Default FXDB street bob fuel cap questions

I recently purchased a 2007 FXDB and it has 2 chrome skull fuel caps, one integrated as the fuel gauge and the other to fill the tank from. I don’t care for the chrome skulls and want to replace with another setup. When I search for a 07 street bob I can’t find replacement ones on Harley’s website that incorporate the fuel gauge into them. Just the caps themselves. I have found some for 09 and up. Does anyone know if something changed? Why it wouldn’t fit? Is harley just lazy and not showing that it does actually fit my bike?

When I check the 07 diagram for the cap and gauge they match the 09 diagram. I wonder why Harley doesn’t list it as fitting? According to the parts diagrams they are the exact same parts.

I replaced the same within the past year for an 08 fxdb. I just asked right at the dealership so not sure about a part number.

I recently completed a tank swap on my '09 SB. Tank I bought off ebay was from an '06 SB and came with a fuel gauge. Both gauges looked identical in every way, so no idea what could possibly be different.

Anyway, I have no use for the one that came with the ebay tank. It's in good normal used condition. No idea if it works, but see no reason why it wouldn't. When I get home later, I'll see what part number is on it. If you're interested, I can send it to you.

Fuel gauge part numbers:
2006 & 2007 FXDB: 75053-01B - $125.99
2009 FXDB: 75241-08 - $76.49

Million dollar question is now answered. Clearly a difference in the gauge window area. If you're having a hard time finding the older model, it is possible it was discontinued and superseded by the new one and both are interchangeable.

My 07 street bob had a set of skull caps with the integrated guage. When I look on Harley’s website the skull caps say they fit 2009 and up Dynas. But they’re on my 07 so 🤔

I believe just about everything should "fit" for '06-17 for the same model bike. I think some of those "fitment" charts are designed to make you think you have to get a newer, more expensive part, when you really don't. I've changed my gas cap/gauge for an '06 model set, and they work, though the LED gauge seems to be a bit off.
If you're interested, I'd let you have my '13 Dyna SuperGlide stock gas cap and gauge cheap. I cut off the connector for the gauge (though I'll include it with everything), but it can easily be spliced back together (had trouble getting the pins out of the connector).

My 08 has the same skull gauge/cap. I agree with ABQ-Jammer, 06-17 year parts are most likely interchangeable.
