My bike does not have a tach. I just go by the engine "vibe" I guess you could say. Usually I don't shift it into sixth until around 65 - 70. 70 feels good to me!

I do have a tach, and I like to stay around 2500 rpm when staying at a constant speed either in town or on the highway. For 6th gear, I concur with the others and shift at 65-70.
I like to keep the RPM's around the same as everyone else....2500. No lower than 2000. I typically shift around 3000 RPM so into 6th is a about 60-65mph
Unless the road is very flat and level, my Low Rider seems to prefer being at around 3000rpm, which is about 80mph in sixth. Frankly, I rarely go there.
I read all the crap about "lugging" your TC 96 engine. It is a Factory stroked TC 88. Strokers have more low end torque. On my 07 EFI TC 96 Dyna, the performance sucked. My Wife on her XLH 1200 Custom would walk away from me . . . constantly. Made some changes to it - EFI to CV-40 swap with a Stand Alone Ignition, SE 255 cams, Ness Big Sucker intake, V&H slip on mufflers with baffles removed and DK Custom baffles installed and an AMS 105" 10:1 top end. The torque is mind blowing. I can shift into 6th at 40 mph and 45 mph tiding 2 up. Pulls like a friggin locomotive from idle till I hit the rev limiter in 4 gears. Never hit the rev limiter in 5th or 6th . . . speedo pegs in 4th gear. Funny thing is ditching the EFI unlocked all the power the MOCo hid with the EFI. Best part, got over 100,000 miles on it.
