I was paying attention to it today and I had it down as low as 1500 a few times. No problem as long as you don't need to accelerate fast or pull a big hill.
If I was going to put cams in it, I'd go for more bottom end torque! I had a 750 Shadow a while back that pulled like a freight train from idle.

Here's another question for you guys. When do you shift OUT of 6th?
I come into a town mid-way to work every morning and afternoon. It's a sleepy little town and I can ease into town in 6th on a gentle throttle down to about 40-45 mph when it seems to start lugging and then I can shift down to 5th (but usually go on down to 4th since I"m still decelerating).
As long as you're decelerating (and hopefully not lugging), how low do you go?

Some are trying to live long and useful lives.
I know that how we ride our bikes is a very individual thing.....and I appreciate all points of view, but I swear, some of you should buy sport bikes instead of Harleys.
No wonder there are so many who seem so dissatisfied after they buy an HD.
