Default Looking for a the right Dyna for me.

I am in the market for a Dyna. I am a big boy at 6’3”/255 lbs. with a 35” inseam and 36” arms, so not every bike will fit me. I have been reading through the forum, and as expected, there are always plenty of suggestions. I have gotten some really good information, but it some of what I have read has made the decision harder. Because I am talking about the used market, it is not like I can just go down to the local dealer and test ride them all. I am not in a hurry to buy, so I have plenty of time for the right bike for me to come on the market. I have sat on a few Street Bob's, Fat Bob's and a Wide Glide. I know there are many other models, but I just haven’t tried them yet. Right now, I am leaning towards a Street Bob or Wide Glide.

With some help from this forum, this is what I am looking for:
  1. I know that I want a 2007 or newer.
  2. I would like to find a bike with ABS, but the chances are slim I will.
Personal preferences are:
  1. I need the extended controls to fit my long legs.
  2. My color preference is black.
  3. I would prefer a solo setup or a tallboy seat, but I can change the seat.
  4. I prefer apes over T-bars. 18’s are still below my shoulders.
So, do you guys have any additional suggestions concerning what I should be looking for?

You're already on the right track looking at Dynas. I'm also a generously proportioned lad (6'7" and 150+kg) I had a street bob first and have 2 fat bobs now.

The model you start with doesn't really matter because you can change them all to suit you. Being taller you'll probably want forward controls as a must. Heres how I broke down the dynas:

Switch Back
Pros
Larger tank, removable bags etc
Cons
Softail front end, limited exhaust options

Street Bob (Superglide too)
Pros
Lots of them, easily change the look/style
Cons
Smaller Tank, mid glide forks make some apes look a little odd, Single Disk frontend, no forward controls

Wide Glide
Pros
Larger Tank, Bigger front wheel, oem forward controls
Cons
Raked forks and frame, skinny front wheel, certain models crack the rear fenders

Low Rider
Pros
Twin Disk front, Tubeless wheels
Cons
More forward mids, smaller tank

Fat Bob
Pros
Twin disk front, larger tank , oem forward controls, tubeless wheels
Cons
Style is love/hate, fitting apehangers to ABS models can be pricey.

Street Bob Special
Pros
Oem forward controls, tubeless wheels
Cons
Smaller Tank,

Which one is that one? I am not the best at identifying the different models, but I think it is a Low Rider. I do like the look of your extended forward controls and those apes.

My Low Rider S came fitted with 16" Apes and forward controls. At 5'8" it was super uncomfortable for me, but would have been good for a much bigger guy.

LePera Daddy Long Legs seats work wonders for tall peeps like me.

The Maverick is more comfy than the Daytona, but IMO the Daytona looks sleeker.

Superglide custom has a larger tank, and you can make it look and ride like any other dyna that you want. Mine looks more like a street bob wanting to grow up to be a road king... haha...
