Default Need a new rear tire

2013 Dyna Switchback. Rear tire just about worn out. Original tire is a Dunlop D401 160/70B17. I can buy a new Metzeler RoadtecZ6 160/70ZR17 cheap. I know this is a Radial. Front tire is still the original Dunlop D402F Bias.
Can you guy see an issue using Radial on the back and Bias on the front??? Thanks for your help.

At one time many bike models came from the factory with bias in the front and radials in the back. Bad if on a car, but does not appear to be a problem on the bike.

Yeah, it's pretty common. I'd encourage you to replace the front, too. The D401 is one of my least favorite tires...

The stock front tire is 6 or 7 years old. No matter how much tread it shows, replace it. You'll be glad you did and safer as well.

If your still on the original tires...you have a lot of things to do. most maintenance items have a time limit to them, so regardless of mileage your going to want to do a few things immediately....

Brake Fluid change it
wheel bearings front and back change them
front motor mount change it (do not use stock)
powertrain alignment do it

you can do these things while your getting your tires changed. I personally recommend a matched pair, front and rear....tire and bike manufacturers tend to know what they are doing so I listen to them....

I'd agree to changing both tires, checking alignment, and the brake fluid change, but on a bike with so few miles on it, it's foolish to change out the motor mount or the wheel bearings unless they are bad. My '14 Street Bob has 67k miles on the original bearings. Hell, the front bearings on my 159k 2010 Triumph are original.

Absolutely, +1 to that. It is definitely okay to CHECK the motor mounts and to CHECK the wheel bearings, but don't just replace with no symptom of a problem. Harleys find enough legitimate reasons for you to spend money.
