Default fxdls wheels on fxdb.

when going to put new tires on my 17' fxdb 10k miles on it , I discovered my spoked rims are warped and twisted beyond fixing. I also discovered the factory didn't even use rim strips...….

since it is the same year bikes it seems pretty straight forward. ive been searching the forums and plan to switch to to fxdls rims. if anyone more educated on the topic can review my plan and confirm or deny my parts/plan that would be awesome.

Bearings
2 - Timken 205pp
2- abs hd bearings
reuse rear pulley
new rotor and pulley hardware
the bearing sleeves and spacers are identical.

as far as the rotors go is it possible to use stock ones ? or should I just run aftermarket since it is already all taken apart?

thank you in advance.

You should be able to reuse the rear rotor but the front is a different style and will require a new one. The front wheel is also designed for dual disc so you'll have unused brake rotor holes on one side. Everything else should work.

thank you for the feedback. I was thinking of switching to the big brake kit up front for now, maybe down the road ill add that second rotor . doesn't seem to look too weird without it .

if I really didn't like the exposed holes I guarantee I could throw a rotor on there and no one would even notice a missing caliper. would be comical if someone did too haha

Harley has a "plate" that can hide those 5 holes on the hub. I had one on my 1995 FXD, stock.

No Plate for FXDLS wheels ... They are Spoke-mounted rotors, NOT Hub-mounted

It's just 5 bolt holes that aren't very big and a small flat area for each. If it's stock FXDLS color it'll be shiny aluminum so it'll contrast a bit. Don't pay a premium for the FXDLS wheels unless you like the color as they're the same thing as 2014+ FXDL wheels. You'll need the rotor, bolts, and the washers for that type of rotor. If you ever do dual disc you'll have the wheel for it.
