Default TANK EMBLEM INSTALL ?

Tins came back from paint, had no problem removing the emblems, now time to re-install emblems.Anyone done this ? Bought some 1/2" wide double side tape from a local body shop supply co. I dont know if this is going to work? Looks like its going to look like a mess to me. Any opinions?

I am assuming you are talking about a Street Bob and want the same style emblems (medaliions) back on. If it was me, and I had already invested in the paint, I would order new emblems. The tape being factory and cut to form the shape of the emblems will made them adhere and look better, IMO. They only cost $19.50 a piece from the dealer.

I'm in the middle of the same thing now too, you should be fine with the double sticky tape.
Make sure you get the front edge of the badge covered well, this is the side taking the wind abuse.

My paint was done 2 weeks ago, was going to go down this morning and put a coat of wax on, but then got to thinking.
Should I wait till my badges come in, apply badges before wax, or wax first, then apply badges.

Just an extra question added into the mix.

I have installed new emblems on new paint on another project, i can tell you, laying down a coat of wax is a great idea, before handling new paint. Before applying the "stick on "emblems clean the area with a soft microfiber type cloth soaked in Windex, works like a charm.

I would clean the area with alcohol to remove any oily residue from the surface and wax after application. May want to find out if this would be safe for new paint and curing times before doing it.

Yeah, haven't touched the tank sinceI got it back, still in the box wrapped in some kind of soft cloth.

Just seems the weekends come around, all parts not in yet, so I keep buying more stuff to try and keep busy.

I know there will be a time, when everything arrives,I won't be able to keep up.

You might want to take it out of the box and let the paint gas out (cure) for a week or two, or install it and let it cure on the bike before waxing or installing the badges - just a thought.

I see you are from Winneipeg. Unless you have snow tires and chains on your bike, you have lots of opportunity for letting the paint cure.

(Not that I have it much better )

If only there were a safe place where the wife won't see a second tank.....

Thanks for the tip though, I'll figure out something.
