Tank Lift Question???
Just installed Jackyl's 2" tank lift on my street bob. I was wondering how it effects the crossover, and fuel pickup when thew tank gets low. It looks outstanding, and seems to be very well made, but I don't know if I can still trust the gas gauge. I know lots of you have already done this, any problems?

RE: Tank Lift Question???
I got the same 2" lift, it will affect your gas gauge a little, but on the safe side, it looks like you have less gas then you actually do. Check that your cross-over hose isn't rubbing to much, mine does a little, I put some reinforcement using a piece of split hose over the areas where it rubs.

RE: Tank Lift Question???
Yeah the gauge is off but it really was never that accurate so i run mine dry one day when i was close to home got 150 miles turned on the reserve and went to the station and filled up, so i just reset my trip odometer when i fill up and go by it. Who needs a fuel gauge a lot of my older bikes never had one
you used to stop open cap slosh out and back if you seen fuel you was good to go if not you better be headed for the gas station.

darkie, a lot of folks here have asked about
and/or complained aboutthis issue.
Myownself, do the math, and use the tripmeter,
or, simply tank up more often.
I always hold the machine upright and off the kStand,
and then a little more fuel capacity is realized.
I'm runnin a 2 1/4" lift on the tank,
2 1/2" lift on the front fork pipes,
lowered 2 1/2" at the rear.
So, the tank is tilted considerably off plane.
As delivered from HD,
the 006SuperGlide tank is very near horizontal.
The machine sputtered on me a few days back,
cause I forgot to reset the tripmeter.
Rolled in to refuel, and topped off with 4.5 gallons.
Might have been 4.8, one or the other.
At any rate, I was surprised it would run that low.
Didn't die out on me and a station was 1/2 block away.
I don't pay much attention to the gauge,
I rely on the tripmeter.
I bent the two crossover tubes down a little,
so the line does not rub on the frame (pictured below).
