Welcome to the HDFORUM.

I hope you continue to enjoy your ride here.

Only as a suggestion, by me as a USER, create a signature line similar to my one line on my bike information.

The year, model, and all the letters Harley assigned to the bike. It will appear at the bottom of your post.

Doing this will be helpful if you ask a question. All Harleys aren't the same with many changes and variations over the years.

Of course, you can add it to any thread with a question.

You can also add any other details you choose and a favorite picture to the signature lines.

If you like, you can also add another favorite picture for an Avatar you see at the top left of all your posts as a postage stamp.

Quickly but could be as it heats up, clutch is dragging . Do the YouTube on settings proper back off behind derby cover and then cable freeplay.

This is done with primary cold.

@Curbjumper I have moved this thread from the Welcome section to the Dyna section as you will get better responses to your question in this section.

Are you attempting to downshift after the bike is stopped, or while the bike is still rolling?

Verify that the shifter pawl adjustment is correct or the adjustment screw hasn't broken or loosened. The procedure is outlined in the service manual.

These come in real handy.
If you have a service manual for your particular year, and model bike. It will help make life easier. If you seek advice here or anywhere else, that advice makes even more sense if you can also reference the service manual for that particular issue.

Make sure all the shift linkage is tight and that the shift arm going through the primary is free first.. Adjust the clutch. Make sure your oil level in the primary is correct.
