progressive 412's
I put a set of 412's on my street bob and it did not lower it at all, they are 11' inch. Did I get the wrong ones? I only payed 130 for them new. So if i have to get different shocks I will sell these to members for the same price I payed.

RE: progressive 412's
For that price, did you buy them used? Were you told they were 11" or did you check them? I had Street Bob shocks on my Super Glide. When I installed my 11" Progressive 412s, it lowered just as expected.
Not to insult your intelligence, but you may have been shamboozuled. |
RE: progressive 412's
I believe your old shocks were 11" so no change in height

RE: progressive 412's
If the new shocks are 11" and it did'nt lower it 1 1/2" to 2" ... Somthing's Wrong....

RE: progressive 412's
I just put some 412's 11 inch on and bought them used on ebay. They didn't have the metal sleeve for the rubber bushing had to get sleeve's from hardware store. Live and learn.

RE: progressive 412's
I put the 412's on my Street Bob and it's much lower. The fender is pretty much even with the rim, And I have about an 1 1/2 inch clearance between the fender and the top belt guard while riding two-up.
Measure the shocks frombolt hole to bolt hole. |
RE: progressive 412's
Actually I believe stock bob shocks are 12". I installed 11" progressives and they did lower bike at least an inch but also installed new front springs and cut down spacer to level bike.

RE: progressive 412's
Mine are arriving today but I have yet to get a motorcycle jack / lift. :(
I imagine that is a necessary tool in swapping these out? |
RE: progressive 412's
I didn't jack mine up. Followed the manual and did one side at a time. Did right side first left side has a nut at bottom. Smiley
