If you have a fender extension you can make it more effective
by the addition of an extension piece,

Here's a quickie.

I've picked up a service manual right off the bat for every machine I've ever owned.
Whether it be 2 wheels, 4, or more.

Pages never fell out.

My 06 Dyna manual was falling apart after I had it for a week.

Took it back to the parts counter and had it warrantied for a new one.

Then, on the way to the shop, I went by Kinko's, and had it spiral bound.
Same with my parts manual. About 4-6 bux.

Laying flat, and doubling back over itself now, are extra nice features.

Arrow How to under 50

I saw this on a bike yesterday and did it this morning. After putting the HD wing kit on I really didn't like how it made the front end look, and I like the closer fit of Kuriyakan but also didn't want a clamp on my tube. So by chance, unless someone already posted this and I missed it, is my no or little dough blinker mod.

First, the wing.

The ball receptacle from the handle bar turn signal. Everyone has at least one, and I got a used one for free from a local shop. They can be painted black and bought chrome. You just have to drill it out a little.

This is mounted straight, but there is enough room to angle it up or down some. I angled mine up.

This show's the difference.

Both mounted.

I think it looks good with the headlamp.

And finished. About an hour or so without breaks.

Mudthe spiral binding on the books are genious. That one will simplify things alot. Book lying flat on bench pages up instead of down, GREAT! I bet ill even be able to keep all the pages reasonably clean now.

i posted this one back on the first page but didn't have pix at the time. i also didn't think about getting a second one for the other side(duh) instead i fabricated it and they didn't quite match. they are at the powder coater now so I'll have to call and tell him to hold on those so i can go get one. thanks for idea[sm=deal.gif]
fortunately my local stealer has a salvage store that sells take off and crash parts.
I'm not sure if they ship parts but if anyone is interested in contacting them here's the number.

XKROME,you're right. I thought I had read it somewhere, thought it was in the turn signal posts. Iquick scanned this forum and went ahead and posted. Maybe it will help out a newb like me . I'm long on want and short on know how/money. I hope this forum stays at the top.

Mud, good idea on the manual. I couldn't believe it when I got mine home the binding broke and the pages started to come loose on first opening. I'll be checking around to see where I can get this done.

Ever think about cutting out that center section of the lower belt guard,
so it is just covering the belt and the pulley,
so you can get a little more view of the wheel.

Great idea Formula.

I accept your challenge, and, I will raise ya some bullet holes.

Here's a couple pix, I don't have time at the moment
to detail the hole operation.

I will, you guys remind me if I lose track.
Assuming there is interest.

I think it came out real good.

Nice Mud, are you going to highlight the inside of those holes with another color?
Actually the raw metal looks good (silver paint).

*************************************

Looking at the picture reminded me of another free mod
for those like me that don't like decals.
I used a automatic center punch and dimpled the lower collar
on the shock for positions one thru five,
then removed the decal and the arrow below it.
Yeah, it does look good with the contrast of the raw metal,
but I won't be goin to that much trouble.

Alright, ya talked me into removing some more decals.
Ain't gonna dimple though.
I'll just hafta count. click one click two click uh uh uh 4??

I actually layed out the bullet hole upper gaurd about a year ago,
and then never finalized the execution cause when I mounted
the ammo cans on the mudSickle, the upper guard had to go away.

When I started gathering parts for Project mudSickle i had gotten
a battery cover, fuse box cover, and upper belt guard from
HDFDyna brother bronk.

Where's bronk?? Haven't seen him posting
anything here for quite awhile.

Calling bronk. Wait, I don't know if he realized what kinda havoc
I was gonna wreak upon his ex belt guard. I think he probably went chrome.

Now that I take a second look at the picture above,
that's his fuse cover as well. Shaved clean with the holes MIG'ed over.

Before I hit send, gotta walk out and peel the shock decals.
Or I'll forget.

OK, that's done, and now I'm pissed off.

Those things never did bother me til you brought it up.

So, while I was out there I was looking for more decals,
before you call me out on another one.

The gawdame mirrors got some kinda worthless trivia on em -
something about appearances -
and it don't look like I can remove that crap.

Pissed me off so bad I went in the bedroom
and ripped the tag off my mattress.

Now I'm worried cause I am skeered I mighta let you
goad me into some irrational, anti social and/or illegal behavior.
