I want to lower my ride.... I've seen kits that will lower the rear by 1" for around 100 and I've seen 11" shocks for 3-500 bucks.......
Whats the deal with the kits?
Also I am looking into some 3' rake head cups.... they say they will fit my bike but it also says you need Timken-style bearing races.... Can anyone tell me if I have them or what the heck they are?
I have read many posts about the lowering kits changing the angle of the shock and hendering performance. Based on this, I waited until I found a used pair of progressives.I picked them up from a forum member for $120.00 shipped. You can get a pair of Bob or LR shocks to lower about an 1" from stock.
You may do good to hook up with Traveler about the raked cups. He did a lot of research when he rebuilt his front end and should be able to answer any questions you have.
Donnie those lowering kit's I would avoid.. I have a bunch of them we have pulled off, if ya want to try one. PM me your address and I'll send ya one... Black or Chrome ?
anybody got an idea where i might find 11.5 used progressives for my 01 lowrider,,,want to lower rear a bit,,although i can stand flt footed and not touch seat,,,need a bit more
