Install Question 07 FXD
Right grip, I spent more time looking for them d#mnferrules, after they fell off, than I did replacing the grip.
The Towel on the floor is a great idea!
Iwrapped a towel over the gas tank in case I dropped a tool or something.
You will need to loosen the switch housings, the right one I just opened completely and had my daughter hold the brake lever. (when she wasn't helping me look for the ferrules)
I also used a fine tip Sharpie pen to make a mark on the handlebars as an alignment mark,
so that I could get the Switch housingsback in the same rotation when I re-tightened them.
My new grips were a bitlonger, so I had to slide them on a bit further, so that mark came in real handy.
Probably took me a half hour, but I took my time and easily spent as much time crawling on the floor as I did on the grips.

Once you get into it, it's very self explanatory.
Thanks for all the help and Ha Ha's............. did it myself and not that hard for a first timer (aprox 1hr )
Thanks for all the input

Isn't the left grip just held on my the controls??? No need to slice the old grip, just undo the left control with the two screws that hold it together and you should be able to slide the left grip right off. Been that way for a few years now on HD's. Easy job - as others have said it will take you 15 minutes or so unless you stop for a beer...
do the throttle one first if you have grooves etc on grips so you know for the left grip where you want it to match accordingly.its preety much a 1 shot time after coating it with glue

Thanks again HDforums and you guys for the guidelines.
It took me 22 minutes following the manual, marking off with a sharpie, starting with the throttle and keeping a close eye on the ferrules!
