Thank youanubisss, but I know what the codes mean, I just don't know why I got them. Same thing happens in 3rd around 80 mph.

What spark plugs are you running? Have you checked your spark plug wires to see if they are loose at either end? If you are not running HD spark plugs you will get the no combustion codes.
Thanks for that input................. Yes, I am running the stock OEM plugs, and they look good. I did swap the front and rear plugs, that made no difference.
Since you mentioned it, I will try running it with the Iridium plugs I have for ***** and grins. I have 3 or four sets of HD plugs I swap around frquently, playing with different gaps. All of which don't have too many miles on them.
Is it possible that at 23000 I need to consider putting a new set of plug wires on it. I am sure they are tight.

Thanks again,

DougJ
Might be worth a try...not too expensive but it is probably your TFI. Reminds me when I used to take my Porsche in for tire balancing and tell the guy " I'm getting a vibration at 135" then watch the guy go WTF?
Exactly..........I think the guys at the local HD get a kick out of my stories, and probably think I am BSing them......... my kids worry about me, and it serves them right.
Problem with the Harley is it runs extremely smooth at those speeds. I know I am probably close to pushing the rev limiter, but never have pulled codes before, when I have hit the limits.
I am running the stock A/C again, and it is possible with the setting I am runnning the engine is starving for air at those speeds, and getting too much fuel. I'll have to drop the WOT 1/2-1 LED and see what happens.
Maybe I'll have time Saturday.

That is the nice thing about the SERT...you can move the rev limiter up to 6200-6400

" In 4th gear at about 100 mph..."

Holy crap! I don't think I've ever gone over 60mph in fourth. And that was during [what I thought was] heavy acceleration!!! [&:]

I like to chug along in 6th gear at 55-60 mph, but find I can't really shift into 6th until close to 120 mph for real cruising. and certainly not going up a mountain highway, unless the wind is behind me. Normal riding for me would be to shift into 4th around 40 mph or so.
4th gear is very smooth between 60-70 mph.
My bike is basically stock, so getting up to and over 120 mph is a little tricky.
The Harley V-twin is an amazingly flexible engine, I think. It will pull a hill with me on it at 45 mph in 6th gear, if I choose to ride that way. on the other hand 3rd will take me to about 85 mph if I want.

Ride safe, loud and fast

Doug, the P1353 and P1356 codes are displayed when the ECM tries to receive signals transmitted by the TPS. Thereis sometimes a rare condition in which these signals are broken up and can not be deciphered by the ECM. Harley'sResearch and Development Lab has done extensive research on this. As of late, they have determined this is most likely caused at speeds of 100 plus, the needed signal is broken up when driveway gravel passes theTail Light Sensor. You need to slow down when leavin the house.

Huh???Maybe that explains the blue flashes I have been catching glimpses of in my mirrors.

I think, maybe when Uncle George sends me that tax rebate, I'll buy the SERT, then I can mount the laptop on the spaghetti bars and see what's actually happening in there.

Doug checked with an HD tech I know he said will throw codes at the rev limit. I would tell you to slow down but thats probabbly not happening. So next best thing is change your shift pattern pull 5 a little sooner

Ihave been thinking about this today and I think you are bumping up against the high value on your rev limiter. If you get the SERT it will automatically set the limiter at 6200 and you can move it to 6400 with the "A" motor but that's it. FYI, They still have some "new in the box" old style mastertune SERT's on ebay for $369. Those will save you $100 over then new SPX model.
