My Two Wheel Casket!

I had a friend recently who sold her sportster because she had a friend who was killed on a bike and she was just too afraid to ride hers anymore. I figure if she's afraid then she probably shouldn't be on a bike anyway. I'm never afraid, but always carry a healthy respect for the machine and the fact that I am more vulnerable on it. I am ten times more aware of what's happening around me when I'm on my bike. I'm always scanning, always looking for the unexpected.
That being said. If I come to meet my maker while on the back of my bike, you can be assured that I went doing something that I absolutely love to do. If I have to leave this world, then let me do it on the back of my Harley.

May sound corny, but my Harley truly gives me something to live for and look forward to everyday.[sm=biker2.gif]
I would say it keeps me out of trouble, but that would be stretching things, abit.

Blade, in about 1985, I went out on the front porch one Sunday morning,
picked up the paper, and right there on the front page,
picture of a nurse carrying something.
Turns out it was my lifelong friend's heart -(Dennis Tynan).
He had ridden his sickle over a tricky RR crossing at a high rate of speed,
crashed came down wrong, and busted his brain.
Reason it was on the front page,
it was the first heart transplant here in SATx.
To make the story even worse, Dink's sister was a nurse
at University Hospital. It was her carrying his heart.
She didn't even know til later.
Lady named Beth Hooker got Dink's heart.
I always wondered if she sometimes felt like kickstarting
a SportSter now and then, or maybe dropping some Acid.
We all have our name on the list,
we just don't know where we are on the list.
Ride Safe.
RIP Dink......................................
