Default Air Pressure and Front End Vibration

Hello,

I have an '07 Street Bob. The owner's manual says the air pressure for the front tire should be 30lbs. That seems low to me and is definitely lower than any other Harley I've had in the past. Is it possible the manual has a typo? Any other Street Bob owners notice.

Also, I notice after shifting into 6th gear that I get quite a bit of vibration through the pegs and grips in the range of 60-65 mph. It goes away if I get up around 70. Does anyone else get this? Admittedly, this is my first Dyna. I've always had Softails in the past.

Thanks,

Daryl

1. Especially while accelerating out of 5th gear. I usually don't shift into 6th until 65 mph. I'll wait even longer if I'm hitting it hard or pulling up a hill. To me, 6th gear seems to lug the engine below 65.

I run mine at 30 front 36 rear. No vibrations at speeds up to 80MPH-the fastest I've gone on it so far. I agree with the 6th gear @ 65MPH.

30 lbs and under, I get a little shake in the front end, but only if I let go of the bars at lower speeds. If I run like 31-33 lbs, it doesn't do it at all. I run 31 front, and 35-36 rear.

I've got Metzlers front and rear, run'em around 38-40psi. I can't get into 6th till at least 75mph, and even that feels a little early
