I really need a set of bags or something for my Wide Glide. \\; I really don't like the way the Wide Glide looks with them but I am at the point of my need trumping my likes. \\; If you have a Wide Glide with saddle bags how about posting a pic., with the type of bag. \\; Please !?
Heres my 05 with the detachables from Leatherneckjim.com
Just put them on for the first time yesterday, like you I dont want them on all the time.
 \\;
Since my better half rides a low rider with no where to put anything, and we go on many long distance trips a good set of hard mounted bags is what I was looking for. \\; Found them at www.ironbags.com \\; Expensive, but my bags have over 60K miles and are 8 years old.

How about the make, model, code and bracket you used. Looks great but their web site seems VERY confusing, at least to me.
 \\;
Thanks.
 \\;I have a set of leathermans-ended up doing a mod to them by drilling holes in the hard backing plate to line up with the bag supports and using leather tie downs keeps them really tight,notice it when opening helps hold bag down better then using there mounting points
