Want to know how fast your bike will go? 0-60 times are harder to find for cruisers. Most members suggest that sport bikes may be faster, but that will not slow anyone down. There are a lot of modifications you can make to make your motorcycle faster.

Read the full discussion below to find out the elapsed time on these motorcycles.

I now have my first harley, and hopefully the first of many. As a former crotch rocket lover, no cruiser, except for perhaps that Triumph Rocket III. Can match the raw acceleration of a 600cc or higher sportbike. What a rush!!!

Where do you ride your fast bikes without going over speed limit or getting a ticket? IMHO, anything over 80 mph is asking for trouble. Here in NW Florida the top Speed limit on county roads is 65mph, and a lot of times that is pushing it because of the cages pulling out of side roads and intersections right in front of you. The interstates are 70 MPH. You can get by on going 80 on them without the HP stopping you. I think that there are two kinds of riders. Those that like speed and those that take the back roads and relax at lower speeds. I'm difinitly in the last group. JUst give me enough speed and torque to pass safely. Maybe it has something to do with being female and in my late 50's. Life is to short to pass by at fast speeds. And those speeding tickets can cost the price of a new part or upgrade to your bike.

I'm in the "like to cruise" catagory. I've got all the power I need out of my Bob with the stage I. I can understand wanting the bike to go faster and faster, it just doesn't matter that much to me. To each his own.

AkiSka- Now that was some good post data. Numbers, plain and simple, thanks for the concrete info. Being that you're from Finland (you are aren't you?) do you ever see any good concerts. All the best bands are from Scandinavia, Cult Of Luna, Meshuggah, HIM. How's it riding your bike during the months of darkness you have there? If you are that far north.

Crusteel, 1st of all, that quote in your sig line is great........

Now back to the topic. I dont have numbers, but both my bikes are stage 1. Both are plenty fast as well. Top speed is not really what matters to me, its that on demand torque at any RPM that gets me smiling. The Dyna seems to have more torque than the Sporty. Off the line however, the Sporty is a bullet. Still, if I had the money.....they would both be faster, stronger, and meaner! Its a sickness!

A few years ago I had a honda 750 shadow. It wasn't anything special, but it was fast enough. Anyway...some dude walks up to me and says, "what is that..and 1100?" I told him it was a 750. He said "well..it's big enough to get out of the way". That line stuck with me. And now, riding a Harley with a 1450cc engine and 80 something lb pounds of torque...it's definitely big enough to get out of the way. That's all I need.

Other than that..I can be found on the back roads of west central NJ cruising at a nice leisurly pace...usually between 45 and 55 mph...always watching the sides of the roads for 4 legged animals.

most harleys won't stand a chance up against a jap sport bike, but on cool factor we will bet them every time, but thats most harleys my goal is mid 11s with a shovel, building new motor now 93ci 11+1 comp.600+lift home brew heads that flow, delltoro carb tuned right, good racers newer tell all,and i run drag pipes on the street, the bike in my sig was a 80in and was no slug, when i get done they will be dyno sheats and time slips to show, tune in for futher details.
