Want to know how fast your bike will go? 0-60 times are harder to find for cruisers. Most members suggest that sport bikes may be faster, but that will not slow anyone down. There are a lot of modifications you can make to make your motorcycle faster.

Read the full discussion below to find out the elapsed time on these motorcycles.

1/4 mile times, 0-60, top speed, etc.

Where do you ride your fast bikes without going over speed limit or getting a ticket? IMHO, anything over 80 mph is asking for trouble.
I can't help it, if the speed limit's 35 I'm going 50, if it's 65 I'll do 80, any time no one else is around I'm going as fast as I can.And yes I have got a few tickets.I don't understand why anyone would buy a motorcycle to go slow you can do that in a car with AC,heat and a stereo. Why do I have a Harley? I thought I was ready to slow down, relax, whatever, I'm just not.I also loath the styling and the disposable nature of modern japaneese motorcycles so I'm left with what? Harley and a few Triumph and Ducatti "retro" models.

Most of us "old-timers" have had a few fast bikes in our days. Yamaha XS1100S, Yamaha V-Max, Honda CBX, Kawazaki 900, etc. These were awfully fast in their day. Both motorcycles and autos have increased in HP and speed ability, however, with age comes the enjoyment of the ride, not the "thrill". I've had a few too many thrills in my day.

I ride my Harley to cruise for hundreds of miles....not blast through fractions of miles.

I hear ya, my SV650 will smoke my bob in the 1/4 and top end but just barely since I had the Bob tuned on a dyno.
Wait, which is it? Did it smoke the Bob or just barely beat it? [&:]

my 04 gsxr 1000 went 9.98 @ 142 mph. bone stock w/ the front end strapped down. my 06 street bob w/the 95 kit, cams, heads, throttle body. 10 and a half to ones still won't touch that. may end up being a mid 11 sec bike at best, but what are you gonna do? two different breeds of animal. i see the sportbikes as being the cheetahs. fast, nimble, sleek. harleys are the lion, king of the jungle.

Hi Overthehill, There are a lot of drag strips where you can take your bike and check the quarter mile times for it. I've been to one in Maryland where bikes were topping out at 156mph for the quarter mile. Those were jap bikes, of course. I actually saw one guy go up on a wheelie at the start and keep the front wheel in the air for the full quarter mile! I was totally impressed!!

In reality a 400lb 70hp bike vs a 650lb 80hp bike isn't much of a contest but since I can't ride both of them at the same time the Bob "feels" almost as fast as the SV.

I'm not sure what ya did to a shadow to get it to run like that, My ace750 won't even touch my brother's bagger which in turn is a tick slower than my road king. I'm still giving up a hundred or so pounds to a dyna if I'm not mistaken.
